Pakistan's planning minister Ahsan Iqbal has acknowledged the country missed opportunities with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He stated that Chinese investors were forced to leave due to attempts by the previous government to scandalize their investments. The flagship project, CPEC, has seen little progress since 2018. Long-term objectives, including industrialization, remain unachievable.
